Graduate student
I got my Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Catania in 2013. Since High school, I have been interested in higher cognitive functions of our brain, with particular emphasis on synaptic plasticity. Then, to follow my interests I moved to Trieste, where I got my Master's degree in Neuroscience in March of 2016. To address the origin of these complex brain functions from a molecular and developmental point of view, I have chosen the Laboratory of Cerebral Cortex Development held by Professor Mallamaci.
During the training at my Master's degree thesis, I investigated on roles of Foxg1 in cortical neurons during embryonic and post-natal development. Currently, I am continuing this exciting field of research thanks to a SISSA Post-graduate fellowship. I am very enthusiastic to share same passions with my colleagues, building together and in perfect harmony small steps of knowledge day by day.
I love sport, team play, and board games. My preferred aphorism is "errando discitur" (you learn by mistakes); in my opinion, this is the way towards the knowledge.
